this is the 'strong provider' phenotype, it's very popular with women and gay men because (according to one's primate brain) it balances propensity for loyalty with sexual aggression and fertility.
some people have different attractions, like preferring men who seem smart and sneaky, or feminine twinks. But it all comes down to your brain settling on a certain strategy to maximize reproductive success (and it won't work because most posters on this board have a brain defect causing homosexual attraction, myself included)
